Bert, Bouncing Check's black lab, left us on November 4th, 2009.  Although not officially on the list, Bert had completed a few Raven Runs when he was in better health.

He had done great in adjusting to walking on 3 legs after his back leg was recently amputated to remove a tumor, unfortunately he lost his battle with cancer as he was unable to eat and became progressively weaker.

Goofy Bert was loved by all those who knew him; even Reverend rescued a sandwich out of a garbage can on the beach for a great doggie treat after we noticed that Bert was barking at it.

His obsession with tennis balls was legendary; he would play catch until our arms were sore from throwing the ball.

He will be missed by all, particularly by his good friends, fellow Raven Runner Sapphire, and little Patxi (who took advantage of Bert's relaxed and calmed personality to slap him every time she could)
